Summer is here!

You know it is summer in our house when the doorstops are on the doors, bubble making supplies are always out and bathing suits and towels are drying on the all the railings.

Moooooo. . . . .

I went to the famous Nusret Steak House in Etiler on Friday night for a business dinner.  Beef.  And lots of it.  Zero vegetarian options so nothing for Mel, but I suffered through it. . . . .

The entrance to the restaurant looks like a butcher shop.

Food was yummy and the service was great.  Definitely a meat restaurant though.  As an appetizer, the waiter suggested the ribeye.  Yes, a ribeye steak for an appetizer.  Two of us shared it, then two other courses of sliced beef came before the main course, which was their house special.  Very tender beef served up in butter basically.  With bread.

Further evidence that this place was carnivore heaven - the bread was just used as something for the middle of the sandwich.  Meat on the outside and bread dipped in melted butter. . . . how can you go wrong?

I haven't had meat since.

This past week

It's been a really busy week. It seems like it always is. No time to slow down. . but I will because tomorrow is a school holiday and we are planning to spend it at the pool.

Last Thursday I got to play tourist with my Aunt Jyceline and her partner Christopher. We hit up Topkapi palace and then took the ferry back from Eminonu to Arnuvutkoy for a yummy fish dinner.

So happy!

If you look really closely you can see the Galata Tower to the right of the large tree.

Love the sunlight in this picture

Opulence. That's all good up there.

You can see our neighbourhood to the right of the tree on the left.

I thought these tourists looked liked kids waiting for a bus.

Love!

On Friday I pawned the kids off on friends and our amazing nanny Karen for the Turkish National Team beach training camp in Kilyos. It was a great camp, with great weather and really looking forward to competing in Spain with this amazing group of athletes!

Great form!

When I got home on Sunday night, tired and full of sand my Aunt had already made a yummy dinner and then the kids and I went to blow bubbles up on the terrace. A great way to top off the weekend.
